Ellen Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern based in Austin, Texas, under the supervision of Jennifer Buffalo, LPC-S, LMFT. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, TX. Before attending graduate school, she was a Discipleship Director for middle and high school students. During graduate school, she worked for various tech start ups, assisting with outreach, research, and customer experience.
Ellen began her clinical training as a psychotherapist at OutYouth and at the Center for Child Protection. At OutYouth, Ellen led therapy groups in schools around Austin where students in the LGBTQ+ community had a safe space to process, heal, and grow. As a therapist for the Center for Child Protection, Ellen learned about trauma-informed care and supported children, parents, and families who had experienced physical or sexual abuse. Through these experiences, Ellen came to love working with children and teenagers who might be struggling at school or at home.
In her post-graduate clinical work, Ellen received additional training to work with couples. Ellen currently works with and supports couples who are struggling, as well as couples who are recently engaged and looking for premarital counseling.
No matter what you, your relationship, or your family is facing, Ellen provides a safe and supportive space for you to work through it. Ellen is currently taking new clients and works with couples, individuals, and families.
